Brean Theme Park Saved. The Somerset Park Reopens for 2026 Despite Liquidation

Brean Theme Park has confirmed it will reopen for the 2026 summer season, just two weeks after one of its operators entered liquidation. The Somerset attraction will welcome visitors again from Easter.

What Happened

On 28 January 2026, Brean Theme Park appointed liquidators from Hazlewoods LLP. However, general manager Peter Mainwaring confirmed the park operates as a fully independent business leasing land from Unity Holidays.

Quote from Peter Mainwaring, General Manager

"We are working hard behind the scenes and will reopen for the 2026 Summer Season from Easter. Although the group structure has changed, our loyal visitors will still enjoy the same park, the same team, and the same great day out."

What This Means for Visitors

Opening Date is 21 March 2026. The theme park, Unity holiday park, Splash water park, and gym are all unaffected. Entry remains free with ride credits purchased for attractions.

The Bigger Picture

Brean Theme Park's near-miss highlights the precarious position of smaller UK theme parks. Rising operational costs have put pressure on attractions nationwide. For a comprehensive view of which parks are opening this season, see our 2026 UK Theme Parks Reopening Guide.
