The End of Free New Forest Parking: What April's Changes Mean for Visitors

Forestry England has confirmed that parking charges will be introduced across the New Forest National Park from April 2026, ending decades of free access to one of Britain's most beloved natural landscapes.

The New Charging Structure

From April, charges will be £1.50 (1 hour), £3 (2 hours), £5 (4 hours), or £8 (4+ hours). Payment via Ringo app only.

How to Reduce Costs

Forestry England membership (£94/year) provides unlimited free parking. Public transport and cycling offer alternatives to driving between sites.
